OUT FUCKING STANDING! That has to be the best tut on hammer I have seen yet, and I’ve watched oodles of them.
Thx for that.
@tjsallah I have the TF2 dev textures, and the Dev Texture pack from FPSB. I’d give a link but Youtube wont allow me to
Where or how did you get all the different colored textures from?
@Arnazisti just make a block, and use the clipping tool to cut the sides to an angle
how do i make a pyramid
mat_wireframe 1
mat_wireframe 2
mat_wireframe 3
mat_wireframe 4
one of this
(sv_cheats 1)
9:06 how do you do that in the main menu?
Each to his/her own I guess
i dont do that, because im lazy. but it really does not matter.
if you look at valves levels, they are not built that well. and those stairs are just like these, 8 rise 12 run, hell it says it on the texture. lol
But Valve made the prefab…. so Valve don’t make good game levels?
U rock
Even though i already know everything in yur tuts i keep watching them x3
-jrkto
Yeah, remember to put playerclip top of the stairs, it makes movement smoother
if your too lazy to make stairs you should not be mapping
There is a easier way to my stairs…
Go to the entities tab then iclick on the drop down menu and then click HL2 prefabs, then type in ’stairs’ then you just click on one of the four views and HAY presto you got perfect stairs
Damn :/
cant seem to find this anywhere… how do u put the console shortcuts in the menu? thx
made ‘em himself
Where do you get the other coloured dev textures?
@xtoonenx ah yes, but it always puts the arch on the top view, so i have to rotate it anyways. so i can never get it perfect right away. and remember, i teach for people who are not good with hammer, i make it simple
Whenever you make your arch the right size right away, so you don’t have to resize it, it’ll be on-grid. So your method by using the vertex tool is not needed.
@MystikPenguin ya i saw that tutorial just after i posted that comment but i was to lazy to change it
Great Video. However, could you please tell me where you downloaded all of those dev textures? Thanks!
@123jonnydark Func_details are explained in tutorial #21 but basically they increase fps and slow down compile time.
A good thing to do to stairs is put a clip over the top, this makes it a flat surface so the hitboxes stay true to the model and don’t bob retardedly (like my spelling)
